heimstatt yipotash

an eventful autumn dates back with a new fulltime release, compilation tracks and live gigs. now its calm again in our own heimstatt yipotash universe. time for a short summary…

in october 2009 we released our third fulltime album urban night motifs on hands productions. about the story behind we told enough. so lets speak the others: some reviews you will find at the release site (output). we are sorry but its only in german as is an interview done for the terrorverlag webzine. to find here: heimstatt yipotash interview.

two unreleased tracks were made for the v.a. maschinenfest 2009 and the pleasant strange v.a. ente 9 kostbarkeiten. the first song is based on the urban night motifs theme, the other one is a really odd d’n'b track for an odd sampler.

further, the german music mag sonic seducer took our pavement chicks and put them on mag sampler issue 101. well done, long live the chicks!

and, finally: whats next? of course, we have some ideas. for instance: two false flag operations are planned. in march 2010 we will set free our freaked out alter ego named no go! at elektroanschlag party in altenburg / germany. in assiciation with a release, perhaps.

then we are in cooperation with another great musician to explore a new side of us. at time we want to draw a veil of silence over it as long as we have more concrete informations about it. so watch out for news…

gimped (not photoshopped) hyt

after the full modernisation of our homepage in technique and design we re-painted our blog, too.

through this we try to reflect and deploy our very own thoughts and “mental cinema” (what became some kind of buzz word for us in the last weeks) about a “dirty mordern urbanity” as a homogene design unity.

our brandnew album “urban night motifs” had been available to buy during this years maschinenfest in the beginning of october for the very first time. the official release date is 30th of october. so from now on you can buy the album in our small cd shop.
aside our other fantastic albums you can get the maschinenfest 2009 compilation there, too.

from today on the heimstatt yipotash homepage has got a completely refreshed look.
fitting to the layout of our new album “urban night motifs” it’s looking quite dark and dirty but inside it’s much more modern than before.

during our tests we didn’t find huge problems, any actual (!) browser versions should display it nearly identical. but if you should find any bugs please send us a small note including the version & name of browser so we cann try to eliminate the bug.

PS: we will give you some own words about the great maschinenfest as soon as possible too!

what a shit.

unfortunately mike aka “the_empath” has to work so long tomorrow that he isn’t able to come to essen in time to our gig.

this means, we can not be assisted with his great visual effects and design fragments. we are really sad about that because we looked forward to this performance on that big stage.

we cannot change it now – but there will be a next time, we promise. you will get an information of course, as soon as heimstatt yipotash will be live on stage somewhere supported by mikes fantastic video art!

it’s not a whole week yet until our gig at the maschinenfest.
it’s really getting exciting now – the actual plan is that a first couple of items of the new album shall be ready until next weekend. the masting put some more bass and darkness to the whole album what is exactly complies with our intentions.

today we’ve got the first half minute of the song “metro dwellers” fo you. what’s coming next after the first 30 seconds – you may check it out completely on the cd.

what a great day today, just got the official confirmation, that hyt are going to play at this years’ maschinenfest!
we are very happy to contribute to this fantastic scene highlight with our brand new songs!

naturally we’re going to play tracks from the upcoming album “urban night motifs” but you will hear some hyt “classics”, too, of course.
we are amazingly looking formward to this!

very last minute – just a few hours before the “strom:ton” festival tonight we want to give you a little piece of information:

we are planning to play a lot of the songs from the upcoming album, just to hear them loud and in live atmosphere finally after our long “studio” time. this will be for testing them for live-”compatibility” and danceablitity.

and there will be anothe premiere tonight of which we are very happy and proud about. the_empath from leipzig will support us live on stage with his VJ knowledge. aside his own works, for instance the famous “second earth remix projekt”, he can be known as the master of video effects on stage at xabec concerts.
two of his fantastic remixes are available on our free mp3 mini album “storegga landslide”, too.
we worked out this live collaboration very spontaneously and are looking very happy forward to what will happen tonight.

done! what’s next? burn it on CD-R, send it in for some fine tuning & mastering.
well, there hadn’t been that much to do in the last weeks, but a lot of little fragmented works, details and stuff no one else will notice in the final product… changing values of some single effects live, adjusting volumes, highs and lows… stuff like this…
we are very proud of and happy with the final results. let’s see what the mastering will even do more.

we gave you some information about the big theme of this album. just like our two albums on hands before this one is a conceptional thought thing again:
the single tracks are correlating and shall tell about different episodes who could reflect a night in an imaginary modern metropolis. each song builds up on a central idea which is meant to see that night from a different angle.
during the process of mixing the songs and filling them with samples and instruments we tried to project our own feelings and mental cinema in some sentences or keywords.

the song snippet we want to present you today is probably a very uncommon song when you hear it the first time, but we think it reflects and transports the diversity of the whole album very good. well, sampled brass instruments aren’t our normal kind of work – but well oiled crescent differs from the other tracks concerning the contents, too.
it’s not about the ugly face of urbanisation, it’s telling about the long and hard way home after hours of any kinds of alcohol.

just to come back to the song keywords we mentioned in the beginning, here’s what our mental cinema shows:
warm summer night – around four in the morning – just before sunrise – drunk and tired, but happy – unstable crescent – staggering – still in the bar in thoughts…
