urban night motifs: stand der dinge (2. teil)

Posted by yipotash to work in progress

six weeks are gone since our last news update about the new album. naturally we continued working hard on the tracks and making the whole concept “round”.
but we think we are on the final lane – that’s why here’s some news and the next song snippet fo you:

there are 16 songs we actually selected for the album. they all are nearly ready, will be mixed in the next days and connected to each other. like on “storegga effect” and “perpetual beta” there will be a couple of songs who are not separated by a break because they are interacting and building up on each other musically and thematically.

apropos theme: “urban night motifs” deals with the mostly dark, dirty and gritty sides of modern, “civilized” city life. catchwords like violence, poorness, crime, slum, social isolation, drugs, prostitution and homelessness meet the basic message.

the title of the day is called “breathe in, freak out”. it is the fourth in the actual tracklist and completes the first “block” of the album, which introduces the theme and highlights different scenarios. musically this first block is quite danceable.
